Dumont Hardware Owner Closing Up Shop Reflects On 78 Years Of Business
Bill Salisbury was just a kid when he began working at Dumont Hardware.
His father, Harry, opened the store in 1946, and when he turned 12 , Salisbury would come in on weekends to help clean the place.
As he wiped down the windows and swept the floors, Salisbury would listen in on the conversations between the electricians, plumbers, and painters who came for supplies.
Over the years, Salisbury gleaned enough insight to fix just about anything, and by 19, he was working at the 33 Dumont Ave. store full-time, in lieu of earning a degree at the Parsons School of Design.

Casting Call: Cooking Commercial Needs To Fill Husband, Wife, Teen Roles
A cooking commercial that will be produced in New York City needs to fill the roles of a husband, wife, and teenager.
The exact shooting dates will depend on the role, but the casting call says to keep Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30, open.
Men and women interested in playing the couple should be between ages 30 and 50, and the teen between 18 and 25.

Share The Wealth: Lotto Tickets Sold In Central Jersey Split $679K Jackpot
Two lottery tickets sold in Monmouth County split a nearly $700,000 jackpot, officials said.
The Jersey Cash 5 tickets were in the drawing on Thursday, May 23, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release. Each winner is worth $339,725 in the $679,450 jackpot.
The winning numbers were 16, 19, 21, 36, and 37. The XTRA number was 5.
One ticket was bought at NJ Wine Gallery on Route 35 in the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen. The other winner was purchased at Sam's Farm Market in Hazlet.
The stores will get bonus checks of $2,000 for selling the winning tickets.
2.9 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Tewksbury
New Jersey was rattled by a small earthquake on Friday morning, May 24, the USGS reports.
It happened at 3:50 a.m. in Tewksbury, approximately 6 kilometers southwest of Gladstone, the USGS says.
The Ramapo Fault System, which runs through NY, PA, NJ, MD, and VA, has clearly been a hot spot.
Countless quakes and aftershocks have developed along the system since the 4.8-magnitude earthquake on April 5.

A game store in Hamilton is raising money to stay in business after 15 years.
Its owner borrowed $250,000 after suffering a stroke and Family Fun Hobbies needs to raise money to pay off those loans, according to a GoFundMe campaign.
