Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

One Killed, Several Injured In Multi-Vehicle Prince George's County Crash, Police Say One person was killed and a second had to be extricated out of their vehicle following a crash in Prince George's County, according to police. Shortly before 2:40 p.m. on Friday, June 21, officers were called to the area of Old Gunpowder Road and Sinope Way in Beltsville, where there was a reported crash that left one person dead and a second trapped. Driver Wanted In VA, Passenger Busted With Meth, Weapon During Stop In Fredericksburg: Police Two men were arrested following a suspicious traffic stop that saw them trying to conceal items from officers in Virginia, police say. Members of the Fredericksburg Police Department busted local resident Jerome Blake III, 37, during a stop last week, during which he was caught attempting to hide a weapon, but was not quick enough to pull a fast one on officers.
