NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Over the past four days, the Northbridge American Legion Baseball Club battled four Zone 4 opponents, including another slugfest against Milford’s Post 59, and won all four games.

It started Thursday with a road trip to Rochdale Park in Leicester against the Cherry Valley Post in a late night game that saw Northbridg winning 15-7 and improving their record to 12-6.

Evan Bertone of Douglas started the game and got the win after being relieved in the
seventh inning by Dylan Jepson of Sutton. Upton’s Tom Paine called the game behind
 the plate for Bertone.

Greg O’Donnell of Northbridge had a double and scored four runs, Jacob Byrne of Grafton went 2 for 5 with a 2-run homer and Tim Beaudette of Uxbridge had a single, double and two RBI’s for the visiting Northbridge.

Northbridge returned home for three straight games starting with Worcester’s Main South Post on Friday night. Jacob Bryne took the ball for the Post 343 team and scattered four hits between seven strikeouts and did not allow an earned run to lead the Northbridge team.

Greg O’Donnell had an RBI double while Kyle Stanley and Jordan Smith each had RBI singles to put Northbridge up to stay and raise their record to 13-6. Main South fell to 8-10.

Saturday saw a rematch of one week ago when the Milford Post 59 came to the Northbridge home field and again faced Northbridge’s Matt Abrain who in the previous outing against Milford beat them on a two-hit gem winning 1-0.

Abrain of Northbridge didn’t quite have his best stuff, but he hung tough throughout the game. It started out 2-2 after the first inning with Milford tacking on two more in the third inning and another in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead.

It was in the bottom of the fifth when the home team bats came alive with five hits, including a triple by Nate Pajka of Douglas, four walks, an error and a hit batsman to plate eight runs in the inning and send 14 batters to the plate.

Northbridge scored two more times in the bottom of the sixth inning and beat Milford 12-6.

Northbridge batters Ben O’Donnell was three for four with a double, 2RBI’s and 2 runs scored while his brother Greg went two for three with one RBI and one run scored. Jacob Bryne was two for three with two singles and three RBI’s.

Milford’s Steve Morganelli was three for three with a double and three RBI’s.

Northbridge upped it’s record to 15-6. Milford fell to 12-4.

Sunday afternoon saw the Framingham American Legion Baseball team come to Northbridge for their second match-up of the season.

Framingham’s Grant Davis started the game on the mound and Robert Averill worked the plate. Northbridge started the duo of Matt Phelan and Tom Paine to go up against the Framingham pitcher and catcher.

Both starters only gave up four hits each but it was the two runs that Northbridge collected in the bottom of the first inning that held up for the home team.

Framingham plated one of batters in the second inning and had the bases loaded twice between walks and errors, but couldn’t take advantage of the Northbridge mistakes.

When it was over, Northbridge had secured it’s fourth win in as many days to up it’s record to 15-6 while Framingham fell to 10-9.
