NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — In an Algonquin auditorium that was filled to capacity, students in the Advanced Drama class performed their original play, "Wegmans ... The Musical!" Thursday night.
The show, which began as a short improv sketch in drama teacher Maura Morrison's class, eventually developed into a full hour-and-a-half play over a period of several months.
Wegmans, of course, was delighted by the show, and even more so when employees went to see it.
"Unbelievable," said Bill Congdon, Wegmans' New England division manager, who attended the show. "Just a fantastic job. We've probably got about 35 people here, and everybody's just so proud. It's so much fun."
Judging by the cheers from the audience throughout the show, the rest of the crowd felt the same way.
