WEBSTER, Mass. - Rose A. (Desautels) Prachniak, 97, formerly of Auburn and Oxford, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Lanessa Care Center, Webster. Her beloved husband of 57 years, Peter F. Prachniak died in 1993.
She leaves her son, Ronald P. Prachniak and his wife Patricia of Woodstock, CT; her three grandchildren, Jackie Schold and her husband Gary of Millbury, Jodi Olivier of Thompson and Jennifer Prachniak of Dudley; two great grandchildren, Tianna and Tyler Schold, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her four brothers, Richard, Albert, Eugene and Felix, and by her two sisters, Lena and Florence.
Rose was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Malvina (Morin) Desautels and lived many years in Auburn, and several years in Oxford before moving to Webster. She graduated from Commerce High School and then worked for many years for the former MKM Hosiery Mills in Rochdale. She was a former member of Saint Joseph’s Parish in Auburn and Saint Roch’s Parish in Oxford.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rose’s family on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, and then process to Saint Roch’s Church, 332 Main Street, Oxford for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
