After receiving tremendous response to their 2011 GOP Jobs Tour, members of the Massachusetts House Republican Caucus have announced an additional stop in Westborough on Nov. 7, with area Republican lawmakers eager to hear ideas from constituents and local businesses on how to improve the state's job climate.

Announced during a press conference at the State House in September, the Massachusetts House Republican Caucus has embarked on a six-week Jobs Tour across the commonwealth.

State Reps Matthew Beaton (R-Shrewsbury) and George N. Peterson, Jr. will host the event and will be joined by colleagues Kimberly Ferguson (R-Holden), Paul Frost (R-Auburn) and Kevin Kuros (R-Uxbridge).

With the state's unemployment rate hovering around 7.3 percent and the national unemployment rate holding steady at 9.1 percent, the Republican Caucus is providing businesses and constituents with a platform to propose ideas for improving the job climate in the Bay State.

"We feel the need to get out and listen to who I would perceive as the experts on this, looking for feedback from area business men and women and small business owners, just in terms of how we can make Massachusetts more business friendly," said Ferguson. "Certainly we've been through very difficult times and we don't claim to be the experts, and oftentimes when you get out and listen you get some really good ideas that we can act upon in the legislature."

The additional stop was scheduled in order to give Central Massachusetts residents an opportunity to make it to one of the public forums.

The forum will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 at the Training Associates Building on 287 Turnpike Road, Suite 300 in Westborough.

Residents who are uable to attend the forum are still encouraged to email massgopjobs@gmail.com with ideas and insight.
