LEICESTER, Mass. — Leicester's annual Harvest Fair was held this weekend, and as part of this year's scarecrow contest, Selectman Doug Belanger made an appearance as the Star Crow of The Year.
Each year, Leicester resident Ruth Kaminski and the Hope House hold the scarecrow contest and honor one resident as the annual Star Crow. In the past, former selectman Tom Brennan and Police Chief Jim Hurley have earned the title.
This year's straw-man, a Doug Belanger doppelganger, came complete with an application to serve as Leicester's next superintendent.
"We must make light of everything in politics today," said Kaminski.
