LEICESTER, Mass. — Sen. Michael Moore and State Rep. John Binienda are sponsoring a special breakfast for Leicester's young at heart this Valentine's Day.
Continuing a tradition that started last year, the state legislators are inviting local veterans and seniors for a continental breakfast at the Leicester Senior Center at 9 a.m. Feb. 14.
The idea for the event came about last year after the senior center hosted its first Veterans Day breakfast, said Council of Aging Director Rachelle Cyr-Cloutier.
While attending the brunch, Binienda and Moore and Leicester selectmen decided they wanted to do something special for the veterans and seniors on Valentine's Day as well.
Additionally, this year there will be an Valentine's Day Party and wreath-making activity sponsored by Parson's Hill at 12:30 p.m. with a roast turkey lunch provided by Elder Services.
