LEICESTER — You can support Leicester's schoolchildren at the annual Apple Festival at Leicester High School on Oct. 13 — one of the core fundraisers of the Leicester Mothers' Club.
The Leicester Mothers' Club is an all-volunteer organization whose members include moms and dads, grandparents and guardians of children in the public school system, as well as other community volunteers concerned with the well-being of all students in Leicester.
Held for more than 30 years, the Apple Festival has been one of the club's biggest fundraiser for the school system, supporting educational equipment, programs and activities at all four public schools and providing scholarships for graduating seniors.
In addition to the festival staples of pies, apples, dumplings and refreshments, a range of children's activities will be offered, such as face painting, temporary tattoos, crafts, games, an inflatable bounce house and the safari train.
This year's festival once again has the support of the community, with Platinum Sponsors including Spencer Savings Bank, Giguere's Gymnastics and Worcester Envelope; Silver Sponsor is McKenna Insurance; and Bronze Sponsors are Quality Muffler and Brake, J Morin and Son and Smith Electric.
The Leicester Mothers' Club Apple Festival will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Leicester High School.
