LEICESTER, Mass. — Leicester's Parks and Recreation Committee and Eller's Restaurant are inviting residents to a tailgate party this Sunday to raise money for the town's upcoming Founder's Day celebration.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, Eller's will be offering free food and raffles during the Patriots vs. Ravens game, with proceeds from the $5 admission to go to the Founders Day Committee's tercentenary celebration plans.
Nearly 300 years have passed since Leicester was founded in 1713, and in recognition of the town's rich history, the Leicester Founder's Day committee is planning a series of activities for the anniversary of June 15, 2013.
To further raise money for the celebration, the Founders Day Committee also is selling Cat's Meows collectibles at Leicester Town Hall.
