LEICESTER, Mass. — Leicester's expert fisherman Dan Kenney is helping to bring the outdoors indoors for the upcoming New England Fishing and Outdoor Expo at the DCU Center in Worcester.

The expo is coming the weekend of Feb. 8 through 10 and will showcase the latest innovations in fishing, hunting, boating and camping. There will also be appearances by top manufacturers and world-class outdoor sporting professionals and celebrities such as Charlie Moore, The Mad Fisherman.

As a senior account executive at Davis Productions, Kenney of "Go Fish with Dan Kenney" has also played a major role in planning and organizing the event.

“Planning the expo has been an incredible experience,” he said. “We’re bringing together some of the biggest names in the outdoor industry in New England and some of the most entertaining, fun and educational exhibits and personalities. We’re just ecstatic that the expo has received the level of talent and attention that it has.”

A production of Davis Productions, a sister company of Worcester’s Davis Advertising, the expo will welcome Moore; Davy Hite, Bassmaster Classic Champion; Bass U. President Pete Gluszek; Bass Pro John Crews; Hal Blood of Big Woods Bucks; Roy Leyva, The Fish Whisperer; Rebecca Wolfe, the Huntin’ Chick; and more.

Additionally, seminars and entertainment for the whole family will include an archery range, a rock climbing wall, a laser shot hunting simulator, an indoor trout pond for kids’ fishing, and demos such as the Hawg Trough, a casting pool and falconry demonstrations by Lori Schumacher of Talons! A Birds of Prey Experience.

“We can’t wait to hit the ground running on Feb. 8, and we’re looking forward to producing it annually, as with the auto, home and boat and RV shows we’re known for,” Kenney said.

The expo will be open from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10.

Admission costs are $12 for adults; $5 for children ages 5 to 11; and free for children under 5. For the schedule and list of exhibitors, visit the expo website.
